Our Mission

Montana Capital, Helena

Our mission is to support mental health professionals to learn and master Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), incorporate EFT principles into state-wide mental health and mental-health-related systems, and make EFT services accessible to the general public.

Being the “best you can be” is really only possible when you are deeply connected to another.

Our Journey

In October 2016, we initiated a Community Needs Survey to establish a baseline and called for volunteer board members.

We held the first board meeting at the Double T River Ranch in Clyde Park, MT. We established official email communication with our state-wide community of EFT therapists. Launched our website and held our first membership drive.

In May 2018, we held our first annual Board Retreat in Boulder Hot, MT, focusing on community building, goal setting, and brainstorming ideas.

In April 2019, we held our second Annual Board Retreat in Boulder, Hot Springs, MT, where we elected officers and formed committees.

In January 2021, we held our first-ever EFT Community Survey to assess the training and connection needs of EFT Therapists in Montana.

In September 2022, we hosted an EFT Externship in Missoula, MT, with trainer Ryan Rana. In December 2022, MTEFT provided a $750 Diversity, Inclusion & Hardship scholarship for the 2022-2023 Core Skills in EFT Training.

In December 2022 & February 2023, MTEFT provided Core Skills Training in Missoula, MT, with Ryan Rana and Teri Murphey.

In March 2023, we elected new Officers of the Board. In May 2023, MTEFT hosted our first online community gathering with over 20 therapists in attendance for training and connection. In the summer of 2023, we will revise and launch our new website.
