“With enactments, family members are asked to talk to each other, instead of to the therapist, which serves the dual purpose of allowing the therapist to see firsthand how clients interact, instead of just relying on their description. It has clients experience different ways of interacting.... Enactments are used to explore and change interactional and organizational problems in families. By bringing the actual dynamics of those relationships to life, in the counseling room, enactments lend immediacy and authenticity to therapy."
