TONYA LARSON, LCPC

In 2016 Tonya went to the externship for Emotional Focused Couples Therapy in Bozeman and has been hooked on working with couples since. The need for couples work is on the rise as more couples are asking therapists to help them navigate difficult spots in their relationships. Research indicates that secure attachment and emotionally fulfilling relationships are integral components of mental and physical health, and that emotionally focused interventions have the power to establish and recreate supportive bonds among individuals. After the externship and additional training in EFT her practice now is 95% couples.

Tonya received both her undergraduate and Masters degree from Montana State University. She has been in private practice in Helena since 2015. Before that she worked at Shodair Children’s Hospital for nearly 6 years helping children and their families with a multitude of issues. Tonya is a member of the International Center of Excellence in Emotional Focused Therapy and EFT Montana.

"A well functioning family is not defined by the absence of stress or conflict, but by how effectively it handles them as it responds to the developing needs of its members and the changing conditions in its environment."
